My Cross Stitch Challenge ..... January

Hello there
It's so lovely to see you
as always
you brighten my days

Well ..... here I am
having completed my cross stitch challenge for January
number one out of twelve
No need for a BIG drum roll here
 it's a very small challenge .....
I know that
so
I will just give myself a very teeny tiny pat on the back

If you like you can read a little more about my plan here

Those little deer are so cute, aren't they?
..... I do love them.
Wait till you see next months design
my heart exploded just a little bit when I first saw it
I'm itching to get started now

You may remember this knitting project
which I started just before Christmas
A snuggly scarf
an easy
 no~need~to~think~too~hard
kind of knit
it was just perfect whilst watching Christmas TV
and it looks so pretty with my red spotty jacket

It's got very chilly here lately too so it will be keeping me cosy

My 'Intention' for 2014
was to slow things down
 and my wishes were for
Peace, Simplicity & Health

I don't know what's going on here but certainly none of the above!
I feel like life is already spiralling out of control
I'm trying my very best to keep a handle on it
I really am
but sadly some things just will not be controlled
Darn It!
Oh Well ..... Such is life I suppose
for now at least, I guess I shall just hold on tight.

Before I go .....
just wanted to let you know that my shops are now open

Wishing you a happy and cosy week
Back soon

BIG love
x Jooles x

I'm with you too on this month being anything other than what I had hoped. Simple, hasn't exactly been it so far, but i'm hopeful things will settle down! ha ha, famous last words hey!

  10. Jooles your stitching is just gorgeous, it is something I cannot do as I am a bit too rushy and don't pay attention to what I am doing sometimes. I wish I could do something half as nice as you have done - it is just so lovely, well done. Your scarf is lovely and I am sure that it keeps you warm and toasty. I agree that life is spinning away somewhere and I wish we could slow it down a tad so we could all get on with blogging and crafting. Love your blog Jooles, have a good week. Big hugs to you

  11. Oh, dear Jooles,

I am completely besotted with both your projects (being a huge fan of both knitting and cross stitch) and I love the soft colours you have chosen.

I really hope things are mostly good hectic rather than stressful. I'm sending you lots of happy thoughts from France.

  14. I think I thought the heads of your deer were a foxes head! I'm not sure if you can see it, but now I feel silly :-) I love the stripes of your scarf, it just makes me want to knit more and more and more :-)

  18. Such pretty cross stitch Jooles and loving that scarf, it's lush!! I completely know what you mean by things spiraling out if control, even despite my very conscious efforts this month I'm still finding myself drily off with the fairies and my mind leading the way. It's going to take lots and lots if practice to change the habit if a lifetime. Goodluck with if all xxx

  20. Ooh Jooles, that scarf is simply gorgeous.

I just love your cross stitch too. Can I ask you something? You see those little snowflakes (for example), do you use the same thread, carrying it across the back of your stitching, or do you fasten off for each one?

    1. Ahhh thanks Heather!
I am no expert Heather but if I was using a dark thread on a lightish fabric I would fasten it off for each section just in case the thread might show through on the front but when I am using a pale thread I just carry it across the back of the work.

  21. Oh my word, Jooles...that sampler! LOVE it. I missed your monthly cross stitch post, what a fab idea. I am feeling like I want to do some cross stitch but I don't have anything in mind right now and can't really settle to do anything. You've inspired me to get my books out and have a browse. Especially now the afternoons are getting a little lighter. xx
